Uruguay reveal World Cup 2010 Home and Away kit

South American nation Uruguay have revealed the home and away kits that they will wear during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The team will be hoping to improve on recent World Cup showings which has seen them fail to reach the knock out stages since 1990. In fact, the nation failed to even qualify for the tournament in 1994, 1998 and 2006. Uruguay’s performances in the early tournaments were very impressive as they won the 1950 World Cup along with the first ever competition in 1930. Star players including Diego Forlan will hope to fire Uruguay out of a tricky looking group stage that includes France, South Africa and Mexico.

HOME

The new Uruguay World Cup 2010 home shirt is predominately light blue with various dark blue “sun like” patterns that appear frequently throughout the body. The sleeves and left side contains a fainter shade of blue whilst there are also touches of white on the sleeves and beige down the left side. Manufacturers Puma place their red logo in the top right of the shirt and on both shoulders to the side of the blue polo neck collar. The national badge is place in the top left with four gold stars present inside.

AWAY

The new Uruguay 2010 away shirt is predominately gold with black piping down both sides and on the edges of the sleeves. Manufacturers Puma place their black “cat” logo centrally below the black and gold round neck collar. There are also two more smaller Puma logos place on the lower parts of both sleeves. The national badge is place centrally directly below the Puma logo on the torso.
