Home Kit
FC Mainz begin the new Bundesliga season with a brand new home kit. Thankfully, this strip is much nicer than the horrible red and white design last year. This years shirt is still red and white but in a much simpler design. The torso is split in to two areas with red on one side and white on the other. The red sleeve is beside the white area whilst the white sleeve is beside the red area. On the whole, a very simple but nice design. My only problem is that it looks a little too much like a rugby shirt which is not helped by the collar either.
Away Mainz Kit
Fc Mainz also begin the new season with a new away kit. This shirt is designed exactly the same as the 3rd shirt with different colours. The shirt is totally black with the white coming from the sponsor, logo, badge and a small pattern in the top left corner. For me, this shirt is just a bit too dull. I quite like black shirts normally but there has to be a certain amount of second colour to stop it looking boring. In this case there isn't so the 3rd shirt wins hands down.
Third
FC Mainz have also released a new 3rd kit for the upcoming campaign. The shirt is basically orange with a touch of white on the edge of the sleeves and a small pattern in the upper corner by the sleeve. The sponser, logo and badge are all in white which blend very well with the orange. Overall, this feels very much like a Holland national team shirt and I'm not sure whether it is the right sort of shirt for a team like FC Mainz. Nevertheless, it is a very nice shirt and one that Mainz supporters will surely buy.
