Flybe end Southampton kit sponsorship agreement

League One club Southampton FC has announced that they will end their £2 million partnership agreement with airline company Flybe at the end of the current season.

As a result, it has been rumoured that the club will take to the field without a sponsor next season after being with Flybe for four years. This may see them ditch their famous red and white striped home kit in favour of a retro plain white look to commemorate their 125th anniversary.

Simon Lilley, Flybe Director of Marking, says: “The sponsorship deal between Flybe and Southampton has proved a very beneficial partnership. The four years have been a real roller coaster of a ride that have seen the Saints experience the highs and lows and its been an honour to have been the club sponsor during this time. We know the club were very grateful for the way we stood by them at the end of last season and provided commercial stability amongst their sponsors and as a result we are parting on very amicable terms with Southampton and leave the club in a good position – solvent and with an exciting future under the new owners.”
